COLORIST ART GALLERY

In 2001 my eBay friend "Beartone" got me interested in color guides.  These are hand colored/painted 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of photo copied pages of the original pen and ink art. Hand coloring art pages is an art form that is quickly dyeing out as Several comic book companies are now doing this work directly inside computers.

By far the best and most difficult to find is an entire book (~22 pages) intact.  Often pages are split up and sold seperately, so finding an entire book is a rare treasure. Enjoy!

ISSUE COLORIST NOTES
Unpublished Comission #1 Mark Brown & Peter Temple One of a set of 2 nice splash pages colored by Mark & Peter.  .
Unpublished Comission #2 Mark Brown & Peter Temple One of a set of 2 nice splash pages colored by Mark & Peter.  I liked this one because of the Christ like pose of the Silver Surfer... to be soaring free and yet to be so burdened with the weight of the universe on his shoulders.  .
The Avengers #266, page 1 Christie Scheele ... And the War's Desolation.  Silver Surfer teams up with the world's mightest heros, the Avengers to help stop world wide destruction.  Also guest stars the Fantastic Four.
The Avengers #266, page 12 Christie Scheele Surfer combines his power with the Molecular Man to stop the Earth from tearing apart.
Silver Surfer #124, page 5 Tom Smith This is an excellent example of markers and what looks like water colors. This art is awesome!
Silver Surfer #50 Cover Mike Thomas This is an AWESOME cover.  Mike was hired by Marvel to color some promo pages to be distributed around at shows trying to get folks excited about the 50th edition of the Silver Surfer series.  I personally love Mike's version of this famous cover.
Silver Surfer #53, page 5 Mike Thomas This is  another great promo page done by Mike.
Silver Surfer #33, page 8 Tom Vincent Silver Surfer is dealing with the Impossible Man.  What's cool about this page is that the Spiderman figure on the bottom left panel is not the original.  It hides the original panel underneath.  Who was there ... Beetlejuice.
Silver Surfer #35, page 1 Tom Vincent Introducing .... Thanos  !!!
